 “Safer People”, a programme changing lives

HEB Construction is committed to promoting inclusion by providing all employees, including those in entry-level roles, with training and career development opportunities. To overcome literacy barriers and enhance workplace safety, the company launched the “Safer People” programme in partnership with Upskills. This initiative improves communication skills and paves the way for official professional qualifications.

By integrating a Limited Credit Programme (LCP) in Infrastructure Works, HEB enables participants to earn 24 credits within the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. The collaborative approach and strong managerial involvement have boosted participation in the programme to 80%, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.
