Acting for the climate: emissions reduction and building renovation
At VINCI Construction, we are taking action for the climate every day – reducing carbon emissions at our worksites and infrastructure, rethinking our construction methods, using less water and materials, and using more low-carbon materials and electric machinery.
We are also advancing the ecological transition by building more energy-efficient structures and low-carbon mobility infrastructure.
Renovating existing buildings, developing next-generation materials and choosing the right materials for each job all play a key role in reducing environmental impacts. That, for instance, is why we aim to use 90% low-carbon concrete worldwide in 2030.
“Our companies are upgrading their design and production methods to shrink our worksites’ environmental footprint. More than 60% of the concrete we used in France in 2024 was low-carbon (Exegy®) and we are on track to meet our goal, 90% worldwide in 2030.”

Our vision
Build a low-carbon, positive-impact and responsible future for construction, to benefit future generations.
40%
reduction in direct (Scope 1 and 2) CO2 emissions by 2030 from 2019 levels
20%
reduction in indirect (Scope 3) CO2 emissions by 2030 from 2019 levels
How we take action
The ongoing reduction in our operations’ environmental impact is the result of the variety of measures we have taken, and the innovative solutions we have introduced, over the past several years:
Developing innovative materials, and using them smartly
Precisely measuring our operations’ impact
Improving the performance of existing assets
Our unrivalled expertise now enables us to combine materials in the most effective ways, i.e. use concrete, timber and steel where they perform best.
Measuring our emission levels enables us to identify the areas where we can optimise energy efficiency.
Our efforts at every stage in renovation and compliance-upgrade projects are helping us to halve our final energy consumption by 2050.
