Hydroélectrique

Thermal power plant, Safi, Morocco

The Safi thermal power plant will ultimately cover 25% of Morocco’s electricity needs.

Sogea-Satom is working for Daewoo Engineering and Construction on the third works package at the Safi thermal power plant. The €35 million contract covers construction of a sea water intake basin (at a depth of 12.75 metres), an aeration tank, a 1,500 metre reinforced concrete discharge channel and a discharge structure at a depth of four metres.

The project, which got under way in March 2015, is expected to take 26 months to complete.
