Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, United Kingdom

The new PLENDI brand by VINCI Construction helps meet the increasing demand for luxury hotel projects, particularly in major world capitals like London.

An integrated project management team refurbished the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London under a Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA) with the client in which PLENDI made a range of commitments to provide services prior to the start of construction and thus take part in design studies and project preparation. A team of interior decorators was assembled to participate in engineering and design very early in the project.

PLENDI by VINCI Construction is entirely dedicated to this type of project. It provides expert advice covering the full range of works involved in a high-end project, from design to handover. A team of construction engineers and interior space specialists – craftspeople, decorators and interior designers – deliver a comprehensive range of expertise. The integrated approach is reassuring for clients and makes it possible to better meet the specifications, budget and schedule at all project stages, with the meticulous attention to detail that makes for all the difference.

Building Information Modelling (BIM), a central feature

To optimise this hotel-rehabilitation project, innovation was given pride of place. Accordingly, VINCI Construction Grands Projets made the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) a central feature of the project, thereby facilitating the client’s decisions throughout the mandate. Right from the design phase, BIM accelerates project processes through the use of 3D models and collaborative work methods, leading to more effective development decisions.
In the works phase, BIM optimises all worksite operations.
Since the work is being carried out at a busy site, the digital model helps to forecast problems in the day-to-day operational management of the hotel and handle scheduling and sequencing tasks (including the comings and goings of work teams) more efficiently. As a result, the client will benefit from all the advantages of BIM in the operational phase.
