Developing the talent of our employees

The success of VINCI Construction’s design-build activity depends first and foremost on the quality and skills of our approximately 67,000 employees.

CAP for Talents: structured initiatives to support the career development of our employees

The three programmes – CAP for Projects, CAP for Engineering and CAP for Management – making up CAP for Talents (CAP stands for Construction Advanced Program) underline the store VINCI Construction sets by career paths.

CAP for Projects: expanding our project management capabilities

Given VINCI Construction’s more than 27,000 projects around the world, the position of project director is clearly crucially important. The project director is responsible for project management, for ensuring viability of the resulting structure and for defining and implementing strategies and processes. The project director career path holds out substantial opportunities for progress and promotion.

CAP for Engineering: ensuring the best engineering talent

The projects VINCI Construction is called on to design and/or build require a combination of strategic and technical vision. This is the crux of its design-build positioning. The approximately 3,000 people working in engineering offer outstanding expertise in structural, methods and cost studies.

CAP for Management: deploying our managerial culture

VINCI Construction has a population of top managers who are mobile and who coordinate the Group’s 700 companies based on our common management methods and culture.

Offering real opportunities

With the introduction of an attractive mobility policy, an ambitious training policy and an appealing career path internationalisation policy, VINCI Construction employees can consolidate their expertise and achieve long-term promotion within the company.

The Africa Pro Campus training hub

Sogea-Satom, which created its Africa Pro Campus programme in Morocco in 2015, is a perfect illustration. The Africa Pro training hub is designed for employees of the African subsidiaries and is geared developing their managerial skills and strengthening their common culture. In 2016, the first training course was rolled out for newly hired and experienced managers.

A large number of academic partnerships

VINCI Construction has for several years been expanding the recruitment of local managers and has set up academic partnerships with more than 35 engineering schools and universities around the world. In practical terms, these partnerships come in a variety of forms:

·   sponsorships of school graduating classes,

·   technical conferences,

·   site visits,

·   participation in trade fairs,

·   internships.

They facilitate contacts with young graduates and enable the Group to recruit the best among those who wish to work in the construction industry.
