As it does in waste to energy plants, VINCI Construction develops wastewater treatment plant and sewer system offerings that combine civil engineering and ""water process"" works via the specialised expertise of VINCI Environnement.
In mainland France, VINCI Construction companies take part in major wastewater treatment construction and extension projects to serve larger populations.
On Reunion Island, Sogea Réunion and SBTPC worked on several wastewater treatment plant projects, including the Grand Prado in synergy with VINCI Environnement and VINCI Energies. Handed over in early 2013, the new plant will treat the wastewater of the municipaities of Saint Denis and Sainte Marie and serve a population of 190,000.
In the United Kingdom, VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Bachy Soletanche Ltd began work on the Lee Tunnel project that will collect rainwater and wastewater in the eastern part of the Greater London area. In addition to a 7 km tunnel, the project includes the construction of four very large shafts and the supply and installation of the equipment and automation systems required to manage the effluents and raise them more than 80 metres.
The Group works around the world through its networks of local subsidiaries and also manages and implements complex projects with VINCI Construction Grands Projets, notably in the Dominican Republic where the company began work on a major contract to build wastewater collection, transfer and treatment facilities for five municipalities (Monte Cristi, Neiba, Azua, San Jose de Ocoa and San Cristobal).
