Retaining walls, Indispensable for many projects, are built to retain ground and rocks. A variety of techniques are used, depending on the configuration of the location and the structure to be built. 

The most widely used are:
- Berlinese wall
- Parisian wall
- diaphragm wall
- Reinforced earth
